Reminiscing

Salangai Oli - my all time favorite movie. So many subtle moments, so very well presented by a team of artists, amazing.

Though many would say that Kamal stole the show, Jeyapradha has given a stellar performance. The prelude and her expressions for Mounamana Neram song, her caring, pained expressions while witnessing the sufferings of Kamal and the helplessness - she is far out in this one film.

One "picture" perfect in everysense

The first time I saw Salangai Oli was in its original Telugu version Saagara Sangamam. And then, of course, several times in Thamizh! :-)

If I ever saw a perfect Indian woman look, it was Jayapradha in this movie! I wish girls would watch this movie and see how cool big bindis (kungumam) are! Jayapradha was so graceful!

Kamal is his usual self, a revelation!

The haunting score by Raaja! RAAJA! No words for you!!!

My favourite thing about this movie - the natural way love develops between Kamal and Jayapradha! You miss that sorely in today's movies, the lead pair's love is not forced down your throat. It grows on the viewer!

The scene where Kamal cries in happiness on seeing his name with photo feature in the dance festival invitation card! APPA!!! KaNNle oththikkaNum!!

:-)

nalla solliirukkeenga Vinesh. The film is all about subtle emotions and how they are captured. Jeyapradha with her mobile face, spoke a thousand words with her expressions.

What a lovely movie! and what a great character Madhavi was! She always tried to rescue her lover, they both fell in love for all the right reasons and held down it down for all the more right reason.
Kamal and J.pradha really made an elegant pair!
